Ok so I have a decent update.

* Got my rims
* Got my new chassis
* mounted body to chassis

And inbetween all that, I had a chance to mask up all the windows. 1 and a half hours of masking, and this is what you get:




And the tools for the job, a sharp craft knife, and a kebab stick to make sure the masking tape is down in the corners


Anyway, here is the new chassis, Thanks Aubrey

Got them from a mate of mine. He didn't need them anymore, so I bought them almost new. You can get them off eBay, Topcad make them...

I always have mental issues with stuff like that, mainly the price - kinda stuck between "They're far too much money for toy car bits" & "There's no way I'd want to make something like that for that money", so I go without...

I must agree with you buddy. I don't think I would buy them new, for my basher, but since this is one RC truck I've wanted to build all my life, I thought about buying them. Lucky for me, my mate wasn't going to use them anymore, and I paid a little less than half price for them.

But that will come soon, as for now... the transfer case is here...

Ok, so here are all the parts for the transfer case. I already installed the bearings:





So after a lot of fitting, filing, measuring, refitting, remeasuring, it finally came together:



Here you can see the transfer case is in AWD mode:



Here it is in RWD mode:



Here it's installed into the chassis:




And here is the HPI gear reduction unit mated to the 13.5 LRP motor. I'll install that later tonight and update as soon as I can...

And here is probably the worst thing to have to mask and spray, but, patience definitely paid off. Even I'm surprised with the results...

Well, this is how the chassis stands at the moment. It is going to have to stand like this for a while, until I can sort out some driveshafts. The shafts I got are CR01 spares, but the little universal ball, isn't from Tamiya, therefore the shafts pop off all the time...

But not to worry, I'm sure I'll find some on EBay or RC4WD.







So for now, I'll carry on with the body work, accessories, Etc... I almost had it running...
