Got the 3rd coat of silver on yesterday, and the 1st of the clear orange on today ... I've got to tell you, it looks _so_ much better in the photo than IRL  Colour is fairly accurate though - it's not orange at all yet, more a greeny-yellow

Third coat evened things out a bit, but I don't think there's much point in putting any more paint on as the colour didn't change that much ... In trying to get a final, wet look coat on, I did get a bit of a run on the back :( And a midge on the front right wing :S

I suppose I did get what I wanted - the "correct" orange, but with a bit of added interest, but TBH I don't like it that much, I'm hoping I'll feel better about it once the interior is painted & all the other bits are fixed on.

Well, I like it!
And, I think it is great to see you take on such a challenging paint job!
I would guess the look will be even better when the interior is done.

Made a replacement light bracket:

Wasn't very happy with the extent of orange peel on the paint ...

... but after a lot of elbow grease (and Novus plastic polishes) it's a lot better:

Colour seems to vary depending on light levels, angle ... and a lot on distance  I guess it really needed a darker silver undercoat. Interior is XF-85 Rubber Black & my own recipe for the seats (5ml X7 Gloss Red, 2ml XF-68 Flat NATO Brown, 0.5ml XF-1 Flat Black & 3.75ml X-21 Flat Base).

I've replaced the knackered NiCad cells with a fairly new set of Vapextec NiMhs ... it may have been for nowt as they don't seem to be holding much of a charge  ATM I'm attempting to "cycle" them by repeated charging & then discharging by hooking up to 3 modified motors in parrallel ... I think I might have to look at a proper charger/discharger due to the noise & worries about motor wear

Moving on, I have to do a bit of soldering on the motor & MSC, but otherwise I'm just about ready to start putting it all back together - radio has been cleaned up, body greeblies are all painted, I have enough leftover (decent repro) decals, and the wheels are all back together :)
