Yes, you are right about that, Lars. I still do believe Taki and his design team had intentions of using bearings there, but that the idea was scrapped sometime in the process. The reason we used to install those extra bearings was that people said that without it the rear axle could bend, because things could get stuck inside it, and there were simply more axle free to bend. That was supposedly the reason for it being removed on the mk2 arms. It could of course be just a myth too, but at least we believed it back then. The trick with the fuel tube I learnt from a guy at the LHS, I believe. I could remember that wrong, though. |
